Surprise!

Two of the original band members from the Floating Men

I surprised James with a trip to see one of his favorite bands from college last night for his birthday AND a night away from the house. We went out of town to see the Floating Men perform and met up with couple he has been friends with since college. I did tell him about the concert in advance but he didn't know about Jay and Cassie until they showed up at our hotel!! He was surprised and excited because we haven't seen them for a couple of years. We went out for dinner and then to the concert. A good time was had by all! nuf said. Happy Birthday, baby, hope you enjoyed it! (from the looks of the pics--its a no brainer)

Us with Jay and Cassie (yea so I blinked)

And later on that evening......

Get all your comments and looks in cuz you won't see this often from us! HA
I must say I didn't add some of the more questionable pictures since this is our FAMILY blog! =)

I'm so glad you got to have an "adult night out". When Jessica was little our night out was to visit your Aunt Charlotte while Jess was at my parents for the night.

Rachel - what did you have to drink??? That look on your face is hysterical!!! (I know you didn't drink - I just had to comment on the "blink look")

Well, at least she's still in utero. She may have been shocked by the scary tongue hanging from her Father's mouth. Glad you all were able to get away.

P.S. Who are the Floating Men? Never mind, I'll ask J. He'll know every song word for word, which album the songs came from and what grade he was in when it was released. Since James is so much OLDER than us, we were still in GRADES when he was in college. ha. Love you man. Just kidding...

personally I loved the drunken text I got from James. I'm saving that one for a while. Whether or not he goes to concerts, he's still an old man ;-) Oh and beautiful picture, Rachel!
